Getting Started with Boards Templates
Hello from your “On-Demand Workfront CSM” Cynthia Boon! Interested in using Workfront Boards but aren’t sure where to start? The easiest way to start is with pre-built templates!
Well, hello, it’s your on-demand Workfront CSM Cynthia Boone, and I’m here with a special video talking to you today about boards templates. So maybe you just got access to boards or maybe you’ve been curious, but you’re not exactly how to get started. Don’t worry, I got you. The boards functionality comes with four templates to make it easy to get started. So let’s get into it. When you access boards, you’re going to see the templates. Now, here’s the thing I’ve said it before, you do not need to be on an agile team, not Scrum or Kanban, in order to use the boards feature. This is just a way for you to visualize your work, your team’s work that makes sense to them, makes sense to your leadership. So here’s my opinion of the easiest to the most complex to get started with the templates. So the first one is the retrospective board. We’re all in meetings, we’re all on projects, and when you open the retrospective board template, you’ve got these four columns, easy to capture the feedback and how to do better on the next project. It’s great step into boards. I put the number two is the Kanban board template. As I said, you do not need to be in a Kanban team to use the Kanban board. If you have post-it notes or scribbles of the things that you need to get done, the Kanban board is perfect because it’s basically your to-do list. You’ve got a backlog, new, in progress, complete. If you put all of those things onto that board, you can share it with your co-workers, you can share it with your manager, it’ll show you everything that you’re doing. It’s a great way to get started as well. Now, the basic board, I did put it as number three. It is a very simple board. It is a basic board that you can get started with. The reason I put it as number three is it can be as complicated as you want to make it. So it can be simple all the way to all the different ways that you would want to bucket your work. The last one is the dynamic board. I feel like this is the most complex because we’re taking existing projects, tasks that exist in Workfront and putting them onto a board. But it’s really great for team collaboration. Pull all that information in, people can see what they’re assigned, they can move the cards to where it is, and then there’s a great visualization of what is the status of the project.
That’s it. Really hope you give it a shot and see what boards does for your productivity today. Take care.
