ACP2E-4977: Configurable product invoice and credit memo totals exclude Fixed Product Tax

The ACP2E-4977 patch fixes the issue where invoice and credit memo grand totals for configurable products do not include Fixed Product Tax (FPT), resulting in totals lower than the order total. This patch is available when the Quality Patches Tool (QPT) 1.1.83 is installed. The patch ID is ACP2E-4977. Please note that this issue is scheduled to be fixed in Adobe Commerce 2.4.10.

Issue

Invoice and credit memo grand totals for configurable products do not include Fixed Product Tax (FPT), resulting in totals lower than the order total.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Enable Fixed Product Tax by navigating to Stores > Settings > Configuration > Sales > Tax > Fixed Product Taxes and setting Enable FPT to Yes.
  2. Create a product attribute by navigating to Stores > Attributes > Product, selecting Add New Attribute, setting Catalog Input Type for Store Owner to Fixed Product Tax, and assigning the attribute to the Default attribute set.
  3. Create a simple product with a price of 100.00 and assign an FPT value of 10.00 in the FPT section.
  4. Create a configurable product and associate the simple product as a child product.
  5. Place an order for the configurable product and select the child product option.
  6. In the Admin panel, navigate to Sales > Orders, open the order, select Create Invoice, and submit the invoice.
  7. Create a credit memo for the order.

Expected results:

  • The parent configurable order item contains the calculated row-level FPT amounts.
  • The invoice and credit memo grand totals include the applicable FPT amount and match the original order grand total.

Actual results:

  • The parent configurable order item has zero row-level FPT amounts while the child item contains the FPT amount.
  • The invoice and credit memo grand totals are lower than the original order grand total by the missing FPT amount.
