Manually upload a new video to Experience League

This section describes what’s required to add a new video to Experience League. If you are updating an existing video, see Updating an existing video

Video and system access requirements

You need the following:

  • An .MP4 video file
  • Rights to the appropriate systems (described below)
IMPORTANT
If you are uploading an event, reference Upload an event recording, as the steps are slightly modified from uploading a video.

Video requirements

Any video added to Experience League should follow these guidelines:

  • How-to nature, explaining how to use an Adobe Enterprise product
  • Not be marketing focused, marketing videos are more appropriate for business.adobe.com
  • Ready for customer viewing
  • All editing is completed
  • Contain an audio track
  • .MP4 format
  • Thumbnail size is 420 x 236

System access

You will need access to these 2 systems,

  • Jira - Ensure you have Jira access to the Knowledge Transfer (KT) project and you can create a Jira Story. Try logging into Jira to confirm access.
  • MPC - Try logging into MPC.

If you are unable to access Jira access, reach out to the Adobe Helpdesk for assistance.

Next steps

There are two main things you will accomplish:

  1. Upload your video (.MP4) to Adobe’s video hosting platform (MPC).

  2. Add video to jira by creating a record in the KT Jira project.

Upload your video MPC

This section describes how to upload your video to MPC and select the appropriate folders.

For more help, the MPC team produced a video to cover the general video upload process. It can be helpful to gain an understanding of the process, but you must follow the specific steps outlined below for Experience League.

To upload your video

  1. Log in to MPC and navigate to the Experience League folder.

  2. Select the appropriate cloud level folder for your video.

  3. Select the appropriate product folder for your video.

    If you are uploading an event recording, see Upload an event recording

  4. Click Add Empty Folder and name the folder the same name as the video.

    IMPORTANT
    The folder and video name must match exactly for the Adobe Analytics. Select and open the folder you just created.

    If you do not see an option to add a folder, reach out to Sean Schnoor to adjust your permissions.

  5. Click Add Empty Records in the upper right corner.

  6. On the Add Empty Records dialog, add a Title, Description, select your .MP4, and select your Product in the Product field.

    The current product folder is selected by default. You must select your product for Adobe Analytics to report data correctly.

  7. To upload your video, click Save & Upload.

    CAUTION
    Do not close the window after clicking Save & Upload. This window must stay open until your video is completely uploaded.

    You can avoid waiting for the video to finish uploading. Simply note the video ID that now appears on the upload screen.

    Copy the URL from the upload screen, open a new tab, paste the URL, and delete empty-records from the URL and add video/[your video ID]. Using the above image as an example, the URL for the video record is https://publish.tv.adobe.com/bucket/1/category/4461/video/340849. Make note of this URL as you will be using it in the next section.

Add video details to Jira jira

You can reference this example as you follow along in the steps.

  1. Navigate to Jira, click Create and create a Story in the Knowledge Transfer (KT) project.

  2. Enter a summary in the following format [solution] title - content type here are a few examples:

    • [AEM Assets] Content Automation - Feature video
    • [Platform] Monitoring dashboard - Technical video
    • [Multi] Synchronize & send an AEM email delivery in Campaign - Feature Video
  3. Select the Content Type (should match the Summary)

  4. Select the Solution (should match the Summary)

  5. (Optional) Use Component/s and Fix Version/s to further refine the solution.

    Using AEM as an example, you might select Assets for Component/s and AEM CS for Fix Version/s.

  6. Select the correct Deployment Phase for your video.

    • Deploy - focuses on getting the customer to first active use
    • Use - all things that relate to general product use/operation after deployment
    • Grow - anything related to expanding the use of the solution beyond standard use
  7. Select a Role/s.

  8. Select a Skill Level.

  9. Enter a Description which should be at minimum of 2-3 sentences describing the video contents.

  10. Select a Team.

  11. Assign the video to the appropriate member of the Experience League content team:

  12. Click Create.

  13. Add the MPC record URL (from the prior section) to the Jira record

    1. Navigating to the Jira ticket you just created
    2. Click More > Link.

    1. Add the MPC video record URL.

    Remember this is the URL generated in the prior section, it should look similar to https://publish.tv.adobe.com/bucket/1/category/4461/video/340849. Follow the steps in the below image,
