Learn how Data Warehouse can deliver reports in Tableau Data Extract (TDE) file format to let you democratize and combine data from outside Adobe Analytics.
Hi, this is Michelle on the product enablement team. In this video, I’ll demonstrate how to better democratize analytics data by exporting data warehouse reports to Tableau Format. Let’s say I want to take some of my analytics data and match it up with things like offline sales, call center or CRM data, things that might not be included in analytics data. Now I’m already logged into analytics. I also have the appropriate permissions to access data warehouse and create reports there. I’ll go to tools in the top menu bar and then select Data Warehouse. This is the data warehouse interface. I’ll hit add to take me to general settings for this report. First, I’ll confirm the report suite where the data will come from is correct. And it is in my case. I’m going to name this report, set the date ranges and granularity. Now I’ll build the report. It’s just a matter of selecting the dimensions and metrics from the left, and then dragging and dropping those to the right. Next I’ll select Report Destination. For this demonstration I’ll email this report to myself. There’s another video that goes into detail about setting up destination accounts and locations. I’ll quickly set up my details.
I’ll select Report options from the top. This is where I choose the report format for Tableau. I’ll provide a name for the file, append the report date range to it, and then I’ll select Tableau as the format. On the Scheduling options page. I’ll keep the default to send the report. Now once everything is filled in correctly, hit save request to send your request to Adobe servers. I can check the status of the report on the Data Warehouse main page. It’s scheduled to run and all I have to do is check my email to grab the report. Hopefully this data warehouse export feature makes it easy and convenient for you to combine your analytics data with other data in Tableau. Good luck!
