With Segment Match, data can be shared to you by your strategic partners. In this video, learn how to approve and receive the data, and where you can see it and add it to your own segments.

In this video, we’ll take a look at how data from Segment Match shows up when I’m receiving data from a partner.
To start, let’s go to the Segment Match service and click on the Feeds tab here. And here, we’ll see I have the feed from the previous video that we configured. And now we can see that we’ve shared that to our partner, Luma. So if we switch over to the Luma org, we can see here we get a new notification saying that we’ve actually received a feed, the Segment Match Demo.
Let’s go to the Segment Match service by going to Segments, Feeds and we’ll click on Received.
Here, we’ll click on the Segment Match Demo feed and we can see that we have the two segments along with the configurations that we had set. And we can see that the status is Pending.
This allows me to quickly look over the data that I’m going to be receiving before I actually turn it on for profile ingestion.
At this point, no data has actually been transferred. This is all just metadata that’s shared in real time so I can quickly see what my partner is trying to share with me. In order to actually kick off the data ingestion, I’ll turn the speed on for profile by checking this or toggling this Enable for Profile toggle.
Now that we’ve enabled the Enable for Profile button, the actual data transfer kicks off. Note that this process is done in batch today and data transfers happen once a day.
Once the the data transfer is complete, we can find the received segments within the Ansible segment builder. So if we go back and we go to Create Segment, we can find the received segments under the Audiences tab.
You’ll see we have a new folder for AEP Segment Match and then there’s a folder for the specific partner. So if you’ve got multiple partners, you’ll have a folder per partner.
Within here, you’ll see we’ve got the two segments that were in that feed.
Now these segments can be used just like any other external audience. You can, you know, create a one-for-one segment or you can combine these audiences with your own first party attributes or events data to enrich this data further. -
