Data feeds management UI data-feeds-management-ui
The Adobe Analytics Data feed allows you to export raw clickstream data to import and merge with other data sources in an EDW or data lake. You can create and manage your own Data Feeds within Adobe Analytics. This video will show you how.

Hey everybody, it’s Doug. In this video, I wanna walk you through the management UI for data feeds in Adobe Analytics. Now, in case you’re not familiar with data feeds, data feeds allow you to export raw clickstream data, typically so that you can use that together with other data in one of the BI tools that you might be using. The good news is instead of having to email somebody, talk to customer care, those kinds of things, you can manage this all on your own just through a nice, easy to use interface right in the tool. So I’ve gone here to admin and then all admin, and that’s why they’re all here like this. You can go straight from admin to data feeds, or if you’re on here, of course, you can just click right there as well. But the obvious thing here is that you do have to have either admin access or you have to be granted access to data feeds. So if you don’t have access to data feeds, you’ll need to talk to somebody at your organization to be able to grant you access to that. So we’ll just click on data feeds to go into the UI.
And that comes up and you can see that we have basically two main areas, feeds and jobs right here. So if I click on that, I get the jobs, here are the feeds. And so it’s a pretty easy to use interface. You probably do this without me telling you how to do it, but I’ll just walk through a couple of things anyway here. You can use these filters over here. For example, you can just display the feeds from very specific report suites. You can see I’ve got different reports suites here. So if I only wanted, you know, this geometrics training report suite here, I could scroll down to it, or I can search for it at the top, select that, and then I’m only gonna see those, of course. And so you can multi-select and those kinds of things as well, or, you know, don’t select any of them. And then you can be able to see all of them. You can also then, if I just kind of collapse that, you can see that you can filter this by owner. You can also filter this by status, which is really cool. So you can see all of your active ones, you know, the completed, deleted, inactive, et cetera. So that’s really helpful, I think. Now, if you have one here, for example, that is inactive, we can see over here, there’s inactive. You can always select that one and activate that one. And of course, also, if you have an active one, you can, there we go, you can pause that. And so, you know, select multi-select if you want, but you’re probably gonna want to just multi-select things that have the same status so that you can then choose that option. Now, probably most importantly, let’s just run through the add a data feed option here. So again, pretty easy, but you’re just gonna, you know, you’re gonna name it, something awesome like my feed, you’re gonna select your report suite. I’m gonna go ahead and select that same one. And that’s right there. You can select multiple reports suites if you want. You’re gonna put in your email address where you want to be notified when this is done.
And then you can choose whether you want this to come to you hourly or whether you want that, you know, a batch at the end of each day. So you can also choose a delay. People sometimes use this delay here because they have offline data, especially associated with mobile devices that comes in later once they’ve reconnected to the internet. And so this way you can avoid needing to reprocess your data again, but you know, it’s probably not used as much. So, but that is there for you in case you need that. Then you can choose start and end dates for this to run. Again, hourly or daily, and you can also choose continuous. So just a start date and then keep running until I tell you not to. Of course we need to know where to send it. So over here on the right, we have our destination type. So you’ve got some destination types here that you can read through and you’ve even got some legacy options here, FTPS, FTP, et cetera. So on any of these pretty easy, you’re just gonna click into them, select a location and add an account and then, you know, put in your credentials. And so obviously this is gonna be a little bit different for any of these types, but just put in your information. I’ll cancel out of that for now. And you can see, you can select compression, packaging, manifest files, et cetera. So we jumped down to the data that you’re actually gonna have in these. So you have all the different kinds of data here and you can go into the documentation and you know, search the documentation for data feeds and it will have a full list of these and talk about them. For example, the vis ID here, the MC vis ID here, if I wanted to add that, I can just select that and add that over. And that’s actually the experience cloud ID. And again, the documentation will give you a short description of each of these fields. You know, let’s say that I wanted to do, you know, EVARS and I can grab, you know, whatever kind of number of EVARS that I want, multi-select, add those, et cetera. So whatever data that you want to be able to export, of course, add over to the included columns area there. And that’s pretty much it, right? You’ve got the data that you’re gonna export. You got where it’s coming from, you have where it’s going and you have, you know, how often to send it and how long to keep sending it. So just a pretty easy to use interface there. I’m gonna cancel, but of course you would save that and let’s go look at jobs. So once you, and once you’ve, you know, created that, it would show up here in the feeds. Now you’ve got the jobs over here and you can see that, you know, all of these jobs have completed. And so these are the, you know, specific hourly or daily jobs for each of those feeds. So here’s the feed name and then the specific jobs that went out. If you had one that didn’t finish, you can always click this box here and you can rerun that as well. So that’s another option there for you. In any case, I hope this is very helpful for you to be able to export this raw clickstream data so that you can use it in your BI tools. Have a great day.
