Understand your data–Freeform Tables

Use a freeform table (pivot table) to understand and interpret your data to find valuable insights.

Transcript
Hello, this is Travis Sabin with Adobe Analytics Product Management. And today, this video will be focusing on how you can better understand your data using a Freeform table. In this Freeform table, I’m going to drag over my Page dimension, and I’m going to do Visits instead of Occurrences. And one of the great features that you can do from a right-click action is to trend any selection. So, if you want to view it in a line graph, you right-click and you hit Trend and immediately get this output. Now here, looking at the line graph, you can see I’ve got my values going across for the last month. And then you see kind of behind it we have these bands here, we call our confidence bands. This shows you where we would expect the values to fall during this period of time. And anything above, such as this one, or below, such as this one, are anomalies, meaning that the data is beyond what we would normally expect to defer, to be high or lower than what we would expect. And so, again, pursuing this actionability here, within the tool, you can click on Analyze and this output produces Contribution analysis. And so, this helps analyze using our intelligence services, what might be causing that anomaly. Why might that data in this case be so much lower than what was expected. And so, you can see some of the dimensions and other reasons that might be contributing to why that score is so low. And so, this is a good way to identify segments as well. And so really quickly, with just with a few clicks and actions by building a table, trending it, analyzing it, you can find some quick insights to better understand what you’re looking at here in the data and starting to uncover some of your insights. So, I hope this video is helpful. Thank you. - -
