Hello everyone. Today we will discuss the steps to enable timestamp optional setting in Analytics. Timestamp optional lets us mix timestamp and non-timestamp data in the same global report suite. It helps us to send timestamp data from a mobile app to a global report suite. Also, it helps us to update apps, to use offline tracking without having to create a new report suite. Within the analytics interface, we need to first navigate to reports suites under admin. Then we need to select a report suite from the list and click on general settings and navigate to timestamp configuration. Once we are directed to this page, we need to check the timestamps optional box as shown on screen and click on save.
Please note that if you use timestamps optional, then you need not set custom visitor ID on data that is already timestamped. This can lead to out of order data and negatively impact time calculations such as time spent values, attribution, visit numbers, visit counts and pathing reports. Also, if the reports suite was set to timestamps optional, to change this to any other setting, you need to contact Adobe client care. So in this way, we can successfully enable timestamp optional setting in an Analytics. Thank you. -
