ACSD-57315: New transaction is created in PayPal Payflow Pro each time the fetch button is clicked

The ACSD-57315 patch fixes the issue where a new transaction is created in PayPal Payflow Pro each time the fetch button is clicked on the view transaction screen in the Admin. This patch is available when the Quality Patches Tool (QPT) 1.1.48 is installed. The patch ID is ACSD-57315. Please note that the issue is scheduled to be fixed in Adobe Commerce 2.5.0.

  • Adobe Commerce (all deployment methods) 2.4.2 - 2.4.6-p4
NOTE
The patch might become applicable to other versions with new Quality Patches Tool releases. To check if the patch is compatible with your Adobe Commerce version, update the magento/quality-patches package to the latest version and check the compatibility on the Quality Patches Tool: Search for patches page. Use the patch ID as a search keyword to locate the patch.

Issue

A new transaction is created in PayPal Payflow Pro each time the fetch button is clicked on the view transaction screen in the Admin.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Configure PayPal Payflow Pro.
  2. Set the transaction method to Sale.
  3. Place an order using Credit Card.
  4. Open the transaction from Admin.
  5. Click on the Fetch button.
  6. Check PayPal account for transactions related to the placed order.

Expected results:

A new payment transaction is not created.

Actual results:

A new payment transaction is created for an order that has already been paid.
