Review a website proof In this video, you will learn how to Open a website proof Make comments on a static website proof And make comments on an interactive website proof With the Workfront Proofing Viewer, you can review websites in two formats, static or interactive. The format used depends on how the proof was created. A static proof shows basic screenshots of the website, while an interactive proof is a fully realized version of the website with running animations, functioning menus, and active links. Static Website The web-based proofing viewer opens when you’re reviewing static website proofs. It is possible that the static proof screenshot does not capture all of the website content, such as embedded videos. Because of the way the website was built and how Workfront captures the screenshot, you may see some blank spots on the proof. The webpage appears as a single page in the viewer, so you can scroll to see all of the content. Make comments and use the markup tools to indicate where changes are needed. As with other static proof types, such as PDF or text file, you can access earlier versions of the proof from the versions menu. Compare static versions of a website using the compare icon or selecting from the versions menu. If you’ve been asked to approve the website proof, click the Decisions link at the top of the window and select the appropriate option. Close the proofing viewer with the X when you’re done. Interactive Proofs When you click Open Proof on an interactive proof, the desktop proofing viewer opens automatically if you already have it installed. If it’s not installed, just follow the prompts to complete the installation and finish opening the proof. The desktop viewer looks the same as the web-based proofing viewer, except it opens a new window outside of your internet browser. You can make comments, use the markup tools, access previous versions, and more, just like with the static proof. When you click Add Comment, it takes a quick snapshot of the website. You can see it pretty quickly, but you might see a camera icon as the screenshot is captured. The screen even flashes as it takes the picture, much like you see when taking a picture with a mobile device. Once you’re done with the comment and markup, click the Back to Live Content image at the bottom corner of the viewer. Click the menus to navigate to other parts of the website. And if you encounter an embedded video, you can just click the Play button on the video itself to watch. There are a few tools in the desktop viewer that apply only to interactive content. At the bottom of the window, you can change the resolution the website is viewed in to match the different types of devices it might be viewed with. The options range from desktop monitors to laptop screens to mobile devices. At the top of the viewer are icons similar to what you’d see on your web browser. You can refresh the website as needed. This is recommended if updates are still being made and pushed to the website while you’re reviewing it. The arrows and the home icon help you navigate the website. Use the arrows to page back or forward through web pages you’ve already looked at. Or click Home to get back to the main page. When you’re done reviewing and approving the proof, you can click Exit Proof at the bottom of the left panel menu. With the two proofing viewers, web-based and desktop, Workfront ensures you’re able to review and approve all website content that comes across your desk.
