In this video, we’ll walk you through the requirements needed to have the Adobe Workfront Planning tool in your instance and how to add it so others in your organization can access it. There are some basic account requirements needed to have the Planning tool in your instance of Workfront. To start with, your organization must have either the Select, Prime, or Ultimate plan associated with your account and be on the Adobe Unified Experience. Please note that Workfront Planning is not available for the Legacy Workfront plans. In addition, you need either the Planning or Planning Plus package. Once those account requirements are met, it’s time to think about what access users should have to either view, create, or manage the Planning tool and the information in it. A standard license is needed in order for a user to have full control over their workspace. That means creating, editing, and or deleting not only workspaces, but record types, records, fields, and views in those workspaces. In addition, only those with a standard license can share workspaces and the views created in them. Light or Contributor users can view the records and fields. Now let’s add Workfront Planning to your instance. The Planning tool is made visible to users by adding it through a layout template by an admin. Hopefully you’re already using layout templates to customize your user’s instance, in which case you can simply edit the template already being used. Otherwise, you can create a brand new template and add it that way. In this case, we’re going to edit the Content Marketing template and add the Planning tool for users with this layout template. To do that, we’re going to click on the layout template name to open the Edit screen, click on Set Main Menu, click the plus sign on the Planning box in the Available Items area. This adds the Planning tool to the main menu for users assigned to this layout template. It’s placed last on the list. You can, of course, drag and drop this tool anywhere within the Active Items area, if needed or desired. The Planning tool can be added as a landing page, a pin, and or to various object areas in Workfront like portfolios, programs, and projects. When done, save the layout template to apply all the changes. And that’s it! Your team now have access to the powerful capabilities of Adobe Workfront Planning.
