Transcript
In this activity, you will create your own filter. We’re going to create a project filter named Projects I Own Closing This Month. Before we start, we need to make some assumptions. What do we mean by closing this month? There are a couple of things to consider. Do we want to see projects that have already closed or been completed that were supposed to close this month? Or do we want to only see projects that are still in progress that are supposed to close this month? It depends on how you define it for your needs, but in this case, we’ll assume that we want to see projects that are not yet complete and that have a planned completion date sometime this month. So, with those parameters defined, let’s build the filter. One, navigate to the Projects area from the main menu. This shows you a list of projects, and you’ll find the filter drop-down menu here. Two, click the filter drop-down menu and select New Filter. Three, name your filter Projects I Own Closing This Month. Four, click on Add a Filter Rule. Five, in the Start Typing field named Field, type Owner, then select Owner ID under the project field source. Six, leave the equal operator as it is and type the $$ in the Start Typing Name field. Seven, select $$user.id. This is the wildcard for the logged in user. Eight, click on Add Another Filter Rule. Nine, in the Start Typing Field Name field, start typing Is Complete, then select Is Complete under the project field source. Ten, leave the equal operator as it is and select False. Eleven, click on Add Another Filter Rule again. Twelve, in the Start Typing Field Name field, type Planned, then select Planned Completion Date under the project field source. Thirteen, change the equal operator to This Month. Fourteen, click Save Filter. And you’re done.
