Understand data structures

There will be times when the output bundle from a module is not in a data format easily usable throughout your scenarios by other modules. Some of these formats might include JSON, XML, CSV, and others. When this happens, you can look at using data structures to serialize or parse the data format received and turn it into a format that you can use or need. You can create a data structure by clicking the create a new data structure button in the data structure overview section or in the settings of the module that requires data structure specifications. Data structures don’t always need to be created though, you can make it easier by using a template from the pre-built generator. By providing a data sample, the generator will automatically create a data structure based off of the data you sample or enter, the created data structure can then be manually modified. In a future course, we’ll go into more detail about how to use JSON apps online to structure your data in a different format for use in data structures. -
