Hey everyone, today we’re going to show you how to customize certain Workfront terms to match your organization’s language. Because sometimes the hardest part of using a software is the terminology itself. For example, Workfront calls items assigned to users tasks. And those tasks are housed in a project. Now, your team may call tasks action items, and you may call projects campaigns. So to make that transition smoother for you and your users, that terminology needs to be updated in Workfront. And that, of course, can be done through a layout template. You can either start by creating a brand new template, or you can edit an existing template. In this case, I’m going to edit the marketing content team layout. So I’m already here in my layout template section. I’m going to click the marketing content team layout. It’s going to bring up again this creation screen. Here on the top, you are going to see a section that says set terminology. We’re going to click on that. And from here we get a pop up or an overlay that gives us the ability to change the terminology for a couple of the Workfront objects of portfolio, program, project, and task. Now with some of these objects, let’s say project, there is already a list of commonly used terms within the industry. So you’ll notice here that for project, there is already the option of campaign listed. So I don’t have to create it. I can just select it here from the dropdown. And there it is. So now projects will be referred to as campaigns. Now the other option or the other thing we wanted to change was we wanted to call tasks action items. Now we don’t have that available here in our dropdown. We do have the option of job. That is another commonly used term for task. But since action item isn’t there, we need to create that term. So what we’re going to do is just to the right, you’ll see a link that says set custom name. We will select that. And from here we get two fields, one for singular and one for plural. So we’re going to enter action item into each one of these. So I’ll do action item here as singular and action items as plural. Now one thing you’ll notice is that you cannot capitalize them. You have to enter them in as lowercase. But once those are here, we can go ahead and hit done. And once the layout is saved, those changes will take effect.
