Lesson 2, Creating Channels and Subchannels In this lesson we cover creating channels and subchannels in the Bizzable app. Creating these channels allows you to organize your marketing efforts into different groups such as events, social, paid search and organic so that you can understand the impact they’re having on the outcomes you’re interested in. The first step is to think about the current breakdown of your marketing channels and subchannels. How are you currently organizing or bucketing your marketing activities and do you want to use this same organization structure in Bizzable? As you think about this, keep in mind that you are limited to 20 offline and online channels and 100 subchannels in Bizzable. Once you’ve decided how to organize your channels, go to apps.bizible.com and click on My Account and Settings in the upper left hand corner. On the left hand side, click on the Channels submenu. Here you can set up channels and subchannels to reflect the language that your marketing organization uses. Channels should generally be big buckets for the purpose of easy reporting and subchannels should be smaller buckets for when you want to get more specific. With these channels and subchannels you can track any kind of marketing interaction including digital, offline or sales activities like outbound calling and email marketing. When you go to configure Bizzable for the first time, you will see default suggested channels already populated in the menu. First we will edit the names of these channels before assigning rules to them in the next lesson. To edit channel names, simply click on the pencil next to the channel name and rename it to whatever you want. To the right of this you can edit, add or delete subchannels as needed. Once you have created and named the channels and subchannels that you will use for your marketing org, you will map them to the channel using the rules setup procedure which we will do next.
