Activities Attribution

This lesson covers Activities Attribution. This feature allows you to create Touchpoints from the Activities Object in Salesforce via Task or Event records.

Transcript

Hey guys, today we’re going to talk about activities attribution. So this is for creating touchpoints outside of a digitally created touchpoint from the JavaScript or from a Salesforce campaign inclusion. So with activities we’re able to look to the activities object in Salesforce and underneath that activities umbrella there are events and tasks. And so if you want to create these kinds of rules for things like sales emails or successful sales calls like from your outbound calling team this is a great feature for that. And in order to get it set up just head to apps.Bizible.com and then my account settings and then head to the activities section underneath CRM.

From there you’ll notice a few options here. So Bizible already has some, some rules that have been pre-built and these are based off of the tasks object. But you’ll see down below that there’s also an option to create campaigns from the events object. The existing rules that we have set up are from our sales enablement tool from Outreach. So if we click into this, we can actually see the campaign name that we’re calling, outreach email. And then if we click the little edit option over here we can see the different API field names pulling from the task object in Salesforce. So in this one we’re saying, okay, if CRM task subject does not match any like out of office responders and it contains outreach email in and the CRM task sales dev is equal to true, then we’re going to create a touchpoint for that, for that activity if it meets that criteria.

And then the third thing over here on the right is touchpoint date. So you can select which date field you want to use for to update the touchpoint date. Typically it’s CRM task created date.

Okay, cool.

So that’s one example. Another example we used is for call. So if the CRM task subject contains outreach call, outbound call connect, add that to the outreach calls campaign.

Cool. From here if you want to or actually the second kind of portion of this is adding this campaign name into your online rules in order for Bizible to appropriately bucket the touchpoint into the high level channel and sub-channel. So if you jump into online channels, you’ll just want to download your current rules and then you’ll add in the new campaign names that you defined in your activities set up. So that will be down here Bizible is saying, okay if the campaign value from the activities rule equals outreach emails or outreach calls, we’re going to drop that into the BDR channel with either the email or call as a sub-channel depending on the name here.

So once you add that into your rules just be sure to upload and save and then Bizible will bucket those touchpoints appropriately. If you forget to do this step, Bizible will most likely just categorize those activities touchpoints into other, because there’s no like definition of where we should drop that rule.

And that covers it. Thanks guys.
