Deploying to author documentation

After AEM Sites Optimizer identifies an opportunity and suggests optimizations, you can review and deploy the selected optimizations for further action.

Deploy to author

Select one or more suggestions from an opportunity’s list, then click Deploy to Author to deploy your selection, or Deploy all to author to deploy every available suggestion at once. AEM Sites Optimizer applies the selected optimizations into the authoring environment only — it does not publish changes to your live site. The AEM author can then review and publish the changes from the Content Management System (CMS), consistent with each opportunity’s own Auto-optimize workflow.

This action is disabled when you don’t have permission to deploy, or when the site isn’t fully configured for deployment (for example, a code repository hasn’t been connected yet). In either case, Sites Optimizer explains why next to the disabled button.

Track deployed optimizations

Once you’ve deployed selected optimizations, you can manage them and take next steps from the Deployed tab on the opportunity’s details page, alongside the Current and Ignored tabs.

The specific deployment mechanics — including how updates are applied for Edge Delivery Services, AEM as a Cloud Service, or Digital Asset Management — vary by opportunity type. See that opportunity’s own Auto-optimize section for details.
