Hello everyone, in this video we will show you how to run load tests from UI using OOTB forms IVS and output IVS in AEM forms. There are two types of services in AEM forms, one is form service which allows you to export import data from and into PDF file and the other is output service which allows you to merge XML data with XDP template or PDF to generate flattened PDF. IVS stands for Installation Verification Sample and its purpose is to make sure that the installation of EARs is done properly and these two services are working fine. You can verify this by following some simple steps. Go to hostname colon port slash forms IVS to open the form service IVS page. Traverse to preferences and scroll down to set the administrator user ID and password. Once you are done, click on save. Now select test forms. Here you will see some sample XDP and XML files. Select any XDP file, the corresponding XML file and the desired output format from the dropdown menu. Here we select PDF format. Now click on use EJB to generate the PDF file. If the PDF is generated properly like in this case, the form service is running fine and can be used further. If not, check for exceptions in the logs of application server. You can verify the output service in a similar way by visiting the output service IVS page at hostname colon port slash output IVS. Additionally, you can do performance testing by checking the enable performance test box at the bottom of the screen. You can then see the performance test report to understand the performance of the respective service. For example, here we see the total time taken by form service to perform 20 conversions is 14.03 seconds along with some other statistics. Please note that these services are not enabled by default. So the corresponding EARs should be deployed first which can be found under configuration manager slash export folder. So this is how you can test if the forms and output services are working fine in AEM forms. Thank you for watching this video.
