Short video that walks through the debugging of forms process in Workbench
Transcript
Now that we have completed the configuration of all the steps in the process, we are ready to test the process. For testing, we can record the process by right clicking on the canvas, selecting record and playback, and start recording. This now records the process so that we can step through each step individually to ensure our logic is working correctly. By right clicking on the canvas again and selecting invoke process, we can manually start the process. Let’s now move over to our browser to see what has shown up in our inbox. Once we refresh the screen, you can see that we are prompted to fill out an adaptive form. This form will adapt to the type of device and screen that you are using to view the form. We can fill out the form and click complete. Now that the form is complete, we can toggle back to AEM Workbench and follow the process to completion. Right from the process map within AEM Workbench, we can play the process recording and follow each of the process instances that have been invoked. We can step through each one of the steps and inspect the process variables at each part of the process. In this instance, at the very last step, we can inspect the resulting PDF form that was generated from the data that was input from the HTML adaptive form that we originally had started with. Although this is a very simple use case, you can see that having the ability to toggle back and forth from adaptive HTML forms and dynamic PDF forms is a very powerful capability that can greatly enhance your current and future forms offerings.
