Creating a simple forms process in Workbench

Short video that walks through the creation of a simple form process in Workbench

Transcript
In this example, we’re going to recreate this very simple application which starts with a user filling out an adaptive form and then submits the form. Once the form gets submitted, the process continues, some variables get set, and then the form information that was filled in from the adaptive form is populated into a PDF form. To create a new process, right click on the folder and select New Process. A new process design will appear on the canvas. Next we will drag and assign a task onto the canvas. We can assign these user tasks to specific users or users that are part of groups. Let’s give this task a name of Adaptive Form since we will be filling out an adaptive form. The next step in the process is to set some variables. We can drive the set value icon from the menu and drag it onto the canvas. We can then attach the step to the previous step by clicking on one of the dots from the adaptive form step and dragging it onto the new step. We then give this step a name of set variables. This last step in the process is to assign the activity of generating a PDF form. Since this step is not immediately available on the icon bar, we can select the blank activity step. Immediately all the steps types appear. We can then search for the step by name, or in this case, since we have used it in the recent past, we can select it from the recently used folder. Here we are selecting generate PDF output. We can now connect this step to the set variable step. Now we can add additional configuration parameters to the process. In the next video, testing and recording a process, we will step through the process one step at a time.
