Reader extending PDF form in AEM Forms J2EE
Short Video which describes to to use AEM Forms Reader Extensions so that end users can fill and save PDF forms from AdobeAcrobat Reader
Transcript
When filling out forms in Acrobat Reader, unless you have specifically provided additional usage rights, if it is desired to save the form data and information from Adobe Acrobat Reader, this can be accomplished by extending the usage rights of the PDF file. The Reader Extension Service provides visibility and is included with AEM Forms. As you can see here, we have this form open in Acrobat Reader. You are immediately confronted with a message that you cannot save the data typed in this form. Let’s switch to the Reader Extension Service that is included in AEM Forms. The Reader Extension Service enables your organization to easily share interactive PDF documents by extending the functionality of Adobe Reader with additional usage rights. Adobe Reader users do not require additional software or plugins to work with rights-enabled documents. Make sure that you have the correct credentials. Here, in this example, we have multiple credentials. One of the credentials has been expired. Simply browse to the PDF files that you would like to add rights to. Select the usage rights that you would like to add to the form, and select Apply. This action activates features that are not usually available when a PDF document is opened using Adobe Acrobat Reader, such as adding comments to the document, filling forms, and saving the document. When the process is complete, you can download a new PDF file that has usage rights extended.
