Content Fragment editor
A brief introduction to AEM’s Content Fragment editor.
Transcript
Hello everyone. This is a short demo of the new content fragment editor, which is now generally available for all our AEM cloud service customers. To use this editor, you can either click on the title of the content fragment or select it and click on open a new editor. Once you do this, the content fragment will be loaded in the new content fragment editor. In the middle, you see the canvas that displays all of the fields that are part of the content fragment. You can use the fields panel on the left hand side to navigate to specific fields that you want to go edit. On the right hand side, you can see all of the properties associated with this content fragment, such as the status, the title, location, locale, when it was created, when it was published, as well as the tags that are associated with it. I can also switch to different views. So if I wanted to view all of the versions associated with this content fragment, I can switch to the versions history, and I can also revert to a specific version if needed. I can also view the different language copies associated with this content fragment and open them and edit them if needed. On top, I have a few actions available to me. So I can publish this content fragment either now or schedule it for later, unpublish it. And if I want to, I can also do an ad hoc preview of the final rendered experience on a front end application before I decide to publish it. This content fragment editor also provides me with information regarding the parent references. It shows me parent references associated with this content fragment, which I can also open and edit if needed. For a bird’s eye view of this fragment and its references, I can switch to the structure tree tab. And here it shows me this content fragment has a reference, which also has a couple of different references, which I can then open and edit if needed. Switching back to the editor tab, I can also create variations. So let me go and create a variation for web. And I can easily switch between variations, also switch to the back to the main content fragment. And the properties panel also switches and displays information related associated with the variation. This content fragment editor supports inline asset upload. So if I wanted to create a reference to a content or an image and if the image is not yet uploaded to the dam, but it is in my local directory, I can easily upload it to the dam and create a reference all in one step. So all I need to do is drag and drop that particular image into this field and it’s automatically going to upload it to the dam first and then create a reference to it. As you can see, I also have fragment references that I can open and it’s going to open in a breadcrumb. I can easily go and edit it if necessary, go back to the previous content fragment. Alright, so this is a quick overview of the new content fragment editor. Thank you.
