Introduction to Cloud Acceleration Manager

This short video introduces the Cloud Acceleration Manager, a cloud-based application designed to guide IT teams to move to AEM as a cloud service. You can start using the Cloud Acceleration Manager or CAM for short, by logging into your Experience Cloud homepage. If you are an AEM on-prem or managed services or cloud service customer, you should see the experience card on your homepage. And clicking here will take you to this page where you will see the CAM card and clicking on that card will take you to the CAM landing page. And this is where you can start your migration journey by creating a project. A project encompasses all the phases of the migration journey, and you can create as many migration projects as you need. Once you create a project click on the card, and this will take you to the project landing page, where you will see three rows, Readiness, Implementation and Go Live. And each of these three roles indicate the three phases of the migration journey. So the migration journey starts with a Readiness phase and the first card here is an activity card to assess your readiness to move to AEM as a cloud service, and learn more about AEM best practices to adopt. And to do this, you will need to install the best practices analyzer tool on a clone of your production instance, and then upload the report generated by the tool. Now, this report gives you a high level assessment and guidance into areas where you are not following best practices. For instance, the best practice is to minimize the use of custom components and leverage the use of core components. You’ll also get insights into areas that you should refactor to be compatible with cloud service and you’ll also get an assessment of how complex your migration project could be. It could be a low, medium, or high complexity project. Once you are done with the assessment step of the readiness phase, you can then click on the next activity card, which is planning and set up. And this is where you’ll get all of the content associated with the step to understand and get more guidance into things like setting up the right teams, mapping the roles and responsibilities and establishing the right KPIs. Having done this, you are done with the readiness phase and you’re ready to move to the implementation phase, which starts with setting up your local development. The next step in this phase is to make sure that your coordinate project structure is compatible with AEM as a cloud service. And the code refactoring card indicates the areas that you should address first based on the severity level. Now that you have refactored the code, you should learn how to use the cloud manager to deploy the core to cloud service, and you can do so by getting access to all of the relevant content provided by this card. The final step in the implementation phase is to move the content users and groups over to cloud service. And before you use the content transfer tool, make sure to review the prerequisites as well as review the guidelines and best practices associated with this tool. You should also use the content transfer tool calculator to get a high level estimate of the time it could take to move the content over. The last phase of this migration journey is Go Live, and you can get access to the Go Live checklist and CAM via this card, as well as the best practices associated with the step to ensure a successful Go Live on cloud service.
