Hello everyone. In this video, we will see how to restore content in AEM as a cloud service. Cloud Manager self-service restore process copies data from Adobe system backup and restore to its original environment. The restore process only affects content leaving the code and version of AEM unchanged. You can restore in two ways, either for 24 hours, which is known as point in time or for within a week, excluding the previous 24 hours, which is known as last week. The performance metric is based on the standardized benchmark. The recovery time objective depends on the size of the repository, but as a rule of thumb, when the recovery sequence begins, it should take maximum about 30 minutes, not more than that, but the recovery point objective takes about 24 hours max. While using self-service recovery, you may find some limitations such as restore operations are limited to 7 days only. A maximum 10 successful restores are allowed across all environments in a program per calendar month. After environment creation, it takes 6 hours before the first backup snapshot is created. A restore option will not initiate if there is a full stack or Web Tri-Config pipeline currently running on the environment. A restore cannot be initiated if another restore is already running in the same environment. Data from the deleted environment is permanently lost. Now let’s see how to restore content. Log in into the cloud manager at the following page and select the appropriate organization. Click on the program for which you want to initiate a restore. Click on the program overview page in the environment card. Click on the button next to the environment for which you want to initiate a restore and select restore content. After you complete the time frame of the restore and the time to restore dropdown, there are two options. One is last week and another one is of last 24 hours. Once you select the specific time, the backup available section will show a list of available backups that can be restored. Find the backup you wish to restore by using the information icon to view the information regarding the version and click on the restore button. The restore will take time accordingly to the size of backup. Speaking about offsite backup, AEM as a cloud service mitigate this risk for all AEM production environment by continuously copying all the AEM content to a remote region and making it available for recovery for a period of three months. This capability is referred to as offsite backup. The restoration of AEM cloud service for staying and production environment from offsite backup is carried out by AEM Service Reliability Engineer in the event of data region outage. Thank you.
