Learn how to upload assets, apply tags, and understand the approval workflow in Adobe Experience Manager Assets Content Hub.
Transcript
In this video, we’ll show you how to upload assets to Adobe Experience Manager Assets Content Hub from your local machine or cloud storage, such as OneDrive and Dropbox. To upload assets to Content Hub, you must have permission to add assets on the Content Hub portal and write access to AEM assets. Your organization’s system administrator can assign you these permissions in Admin Console. Refer to the documentation for more information. Once you have the appropriate permissions, go to the Content Hub interface and navigate to the All Assets tab. Here, you can view and search for all brand-approved assets uploaded to the Content Hub portal. To add assets, click Add Assets in the top right corner. A dialog appears where you can upload assets from your local or cloud storage and provide details that help others in your organization find these assets on the Content Hub portal. You can click Browse to upload files from your local machine or drag and drop them here. For this example, let’s drag and drop a few images that have been approved for our Whistler Mountain Biking campaign. We can see the list of the files we’re about to upload here on the left, including thumbnails that let us preview the images. If you want to remove an asset from the upload list, hover over the list item and click the X icon that appears. Clicking Remove All will delete all items from the upload list. If these images were stored in cloud storage and we wanted to import them from there, we could easily do so here as well by clicking the Microsoft OneDrive or Dropbox buttons. Now, we need to fill out the upload details. As you can see in the right pane, we have a few fields to define key properties for the upload, such as campaign name, keywords, channels, timeframe, and region. Filling out these fields completely and accurately is key for maximizing value from Content Hub, as without this metadata, it will be difficult for you or other users to find these assets for use later. Some of these fields like campaign name are mandatory, while others are optional. Your administrator can configure what mandatory and optional fields to display while uploading assets. Check out our video on setting up AEM Assets Content Hub for more details. Let’s start by providing a campaign name. A campaign represents a business use the assets will support. This could be assets supporting a rebrand, an advertising campaign for a product, or in this case, a marketing campaign for a new weekend adventure. You can use an existing name or create a new one. For our example, we’ll name our campaign Whistler Mountain Biking. As we start typing, Content Hub will search for any existing options that match the values we’re entering, making it easy to add assets to existing campaigns. The rest of the fields in our setup are optional, but it’s best practice to specify values for all fields, as this will make it easier and faster to find the assets we’ve uploaded on the Content Hub portal and keep them organized. We’ll specify nature, biking, and summer as keywords. Again, you’ll notice that as we’re typing, Content Hub gives us matching suggestions. We can tag our assets by channels. Let’s use social media and email. We’ll specify the time frame for our campaign, which will be the third quarter of 2024, and we can add a region to group our assets by. This will help everyone using our brand-approved content further narrow down their search. Once we’ve added all the details, we can click Upload. We’re asked to confirm that we’ve reviewed our upload details, since once the assets are uploaded, we won’t be able to delete them from Content Hub. Click Continue to start the upload. You can click New Upload if you want to restart the uploading procedure, but in our case, let’s click Done to finish uploading. As you can see, our uploaded assets appeared in the list of all assets right away and are ready to be used across our teams and channels. It’s worth noting that before assets can show up in Content Hub, they must be approved. There are two ways assets can be approved. A user reviews them in AEM Assets Admin or Assets View and marks the review status as approved. Or an administrator configures Content Hub to auto-approve assets immediately on upload. By default, this setting is turned off. In this example, Content Hub has been configured to automatically approve assets upon upload. You should now know how to add assets from your local or cloud storage to Content Hub. We hope this will help you easily share brand-approved content across teams and channels within your organization. Thanks for watching!
