Hi, today we’ll dive into the fantastic feature of Adobe Experience Manager assets, the ability to automatically extract zip files directly into the dam. This feature is a game changer for organizing and managing your digital assets efficiently. So let’s get started. Imagine you’ve organized your assets into a structured hierarchy on your desktop. You’ve got folders, sub folders, and all your essential files named and ready. The beauty of AM assets is that you can now take this organized structure, zip it up, and upload it directly into AM assets. This project simplifies asset management tremendously and democratizes content contribution to AM. Let’s take a look at how we can upload some assets that support a couple new weekend adventures. On my computer, I can take my assets and organize them just the way I want them to appear in AM assets. The first set of images are for the new Experience Iceland adventure. So I can create a folder for that and move those assets in. The rest of the assets are for the ski touring Mont Blanc adventure. So we’ll do the same. We’ll make a new folder for that adventure right next to the Experience Iceland folder, and drag in all the images for that adventure. We also have a PDF leaflet. Let’s put that in a document subfolder. And you guessed it, it’s as easy as making a document subfolder and moving the PDF there. Now that we have the folders and files organized just the way we want them to appear in AM assets, we can zip them up. Since we’ll want to place these two new adventure folders into the weekend adventures folder in AM assets, we need to make sure that they’re at the root of the zip. If we were to zip up the parent folder, which is the new weekend adventures folder, when we unzip it into AM, we’d have this extra new weekend adventures folder in our dam. So we’ll want to make sure that only the two adventure folders are selected when we zip them up. All right, we have the zip file ready to go. We’ll just upload it to AM assets. You can upload the zip file anywhere, as the location in AM assets it will unzip to is selected later. So I’ll upload the zip to this temp uploads folder. Once our zip file is uploaded and processed, you can select it and select the extract archive option in the action bar. Selecting extract archive brings up your AM assets folder structure. Here you can navigate and choose exactly where you want to unzip your files. For this, let’s extract our files into the weekend shared English adventures folder. So these two new adventure folders live right next to all our others. If there’s an existing file or folder when you’re extracting, you have options on how the conflict should be resolved. Let’s use the default key both, even though we shouldn’t have any conflicts. The extraction process begins and you’re provided with a progress bar. This is particularly helpful for large files, ensuring you’re informed about the extraction process. Once the extraction completes, AM assets automatically navigates us to the destination folder. Here we see our neatly organized assets, including our newly added folders, Experience Iceland and Ski Touring in Mont Blanc, with all their respective assets and subfolders intact. Clicking to Experience Iceland, we can see all the images from our zip files, perfectly organized. And in the Ski Touring for Mont Blanc folder, there are the images, as well as the documents folder, which contains the Mont Blanc leaflet PDF. And there you have it. Organizing and uploading assets into AM has never been easier. With this feature, you can maintain your content hierarchy and place assets exactly where you need them. Thanks for watching.
