The upgrade to AEM 6.5 LTS is available for all supported 6.5 Service Packs.

From a technical perspective, the upgrade process from AEM 6.5 LTS to AEM 6.5 LTS Service Packs is designed to be a seamless in-place upgrade. This process generally does not necessitate any code changes from customers, unless specifically indicated in the release notes.

Updates updates

Foundation layer now supports Java 17 and Java 21, incorporating latest open-source bundles from Apache Sling, Felix, and Jackrabbit Oak. Additionally, the packaging of the AEM 6.5 LTS uber-jar has changed. Additionally, a few legacy features have been removed from AEM 6.5 LTS.
