Removing outdated or unnecessary pages from your website is part of routine content management in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). Use the Sites console to remove a specific page from the Sites directory in AEM. You need appropriate permissions to complete this task.

Issue/Symptoms

You want to remove a page that is outdated or no longer needed from the Sites directory in AEM.

Resolution resolution

Follow these steps to remove a page from the Sites directory in AEM:

  1. Log in to the AEM Author environment with the necessary permissions.
  2. Open the Sites console.
  3. Navigate to the directory containing the page you want to remove.
  4. Locate and select the page you want to delete.
  5. Click Delete from the toolbar, or right-click the page and select Delete from the context menu.
  6. Confirm the deletion when prompted.
  7. If the page exists on publish environments, replicate the deletion to remove it from public-facing sites.
  8. Verify that the page no longer appears in the Sites console and, if applicable, on the published site.
