How to request SSL certificate renewal for Adobe Scene7 endpoints

This article explains how to identify and renew expiring SSL certificates for Adobe Scene7 endpoints. SSL certificates have a defined validity period and require renewal before expiration to maintain secure access to Scene7-hosted assets. To resolve the issue, review the certificate details for each endpoint, gather the required information, and submit a renewal request to Adobe.

Description description

Environment

  • Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), all versions, with Scene7 integration
  • Any workflow that uses Scene7-hosted assets

Issue/Symptoms

  • Security warnings appear when accessing Scene7 asset URLs.
  • A certificate expiration notification indicates that the SSL certificate is approaching expiration.
  • Concerns exist about maintaining secure access to Scene7 endpoints.

Root Cause

SSL certificates expire after a defined validity period and require renewal to maintain secure HTTPS connections.

Resolution resolution

Follow the steps below to resolve the issue:

  1. Identify the Scene7 endpoint or endpoints used by your organization (for example, https://<company>.scene7.com/is/image/).
  2. Check the SSL certificate expiration date for each endpoint. Open the endpoint URL in a web browser, select the padlock icon in the address bar, and view the certificate details to find the expiration date.
  3. If the certificate is approaching expiration, typically within 30 days, prepare the following information: the full Scene7 endpoint URL or URLs that require renewal, the current certificate expiration date or dates, and any relevant business impact or urgency.
  4. Submit a support request to Adobe, provide the information collected in the previous step, and request SSL certificate renewal for the specified Scene7 endpoint or endpoints.
  5. After Adobe completes the renewal, revisit the endpoint URL in your browser and review the certificate details to confirm that the new expiration date is reflected.
