This article addresses an issue where a browser cache problem prevents you from editing map or topic files in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Guides. Clearing the browser cache resolves the issue.

Description description

Environment

Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Guides

Issue/Symptoms

You cannot edit map or topic files in AEM Guides. When you attempt to open files, the Guides Editor starts loading the edit screen but then fails and displays an error message. This issue typically affects only you and does not affect other users. The issue might not occur for you in other AEM Guides environments. Network analysis can show HTTP 403 responses for certain endpoints.

Resolution resolution

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Completely clear your browser cache.
  2. After clearing the cache, sign back in to AEM Guides.
  3. Try to open and edit the map or topic files again.
  4. If the issue persists, collect a HAR file from the browser’s Network tab while reproducing the error and check for HTTP 403 responses or other errors.
  5. Verify whether the issue affects only you or multiple users, and whether it occurs in other AEM Guides environments.
