How to migrate a content package from Stage to Production in Adobe Experience Manager

This article explains how to migrate a content package from a Stage Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Author environment to a Production AEM Author environment. Content that is updated or fixed in Stage requires migration to Production to make the latest version available. To resolve the issue, create and validate a content package in Stage, then install it in Production and verify the migrated content.

Follow the steps below to resolve the issue.

  1. Ensure that you have administrative access to both the Stage and Production AEM Author environments.
  2. On the Production AEM Author environment, create a backup of the existing content at the relevant content path (for example, /content/dam/content-fragments/en/example-path).
  3. On the Stage AEM Author environment, create a content package that contains the required content path.
  4. Download the content package from the Stage AEM Author environment.
  5. Upload and install the content package on the Production AEM Author environment.
  6. Verify that the migrated content appears as expected in the Production AEM Author environment.
  7. Request business validation to confirm that the content meets the required requirements.
