A page that was previously available in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Sites is no longer visible in the Sites console and cannot be restored from version history. The issue occurs in Author or Publish environments and affects any page path. Available versions do not contain the missing page, and restoration attempts are unsuccessful. Audit and diagnostic logs may be unavailable due to retention limits, preventing verification of the page removal activity. In these cases, recovery options are limited.
Resolution resolution
Follow the steps below to resolve the issue:
- Search for the missing page in both Author and Publish environments using the AEM Sites console.
- Locate the page by browsing to the expected parent folder and searching for the full page path.
- In the AEM Sites console, select the parent folder and review the version history for previous versions that contain the missing page. Restore the page from an available version, if present.
- Review available audit and diagnostic logs for deletion or modification events related to the missing page. Note that retention policies may prevent older log entries from being available.
- If the page was deleted or modified outside the log retention period, it may not be possible to determine the root cause or recover the page.
- If environment backups are available, consult the IT or infrastructure team to determine whether the page can be restored from a backup created before the deletion.
- If the page cannot be recovered from version history or a backup, recreate the page manually using available content or reference materials.
- Verify the resolution by confirming that the page is restored and visible in the AEM Sites console.
