Filters not visible for specific user in Adobe Experience Manager
This article explains how to resolve the issue where filters are not visible for a specific user in Adobe Experience Manager, while other users with similar access can see them.
Description description
Environment
Adobe Experience Manager (all versions)
Issue/Symptoms
- A user is unable to see certain filters, such as multi-search, brand, and asset category, within the AEM instance.
- Other team members with the same access are able to view these filters without issue.
- No error messages are displayed, but the expected UI elements are missing for the affected user.
- Only one user is affected; others with similar permissions are not.
- No backend errors are reported in logs.
Cause
The affected user was not a member of the required group for filter visibility in AEM. Adding the user to this group resolves the issue.
Resolution resolution
Follow the steps below to resolve the issue:
- Navigate to the User Administration console in AEM (
/useradmin). - Search for the affected user account.
- Check the user’s group memberships.
- If the user is not a member of the
dam-usersgroup, add the user to this group. - Save the changes.
- Log in as the affected user or ask the user to log out and log back in.
- Confirm that the previously missing filters (for example, multi-search, brand, and asset category) are now visible.
- If the issue persists, compare the group memberships of the affected user with those of users who can see the filters and ensure that all relevant groups are assigned.
