AEM: Updated content not appearing on live pages due to CDN caching
This article explains how to resolve situations where content updates made in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) aren’t reflected on live pages due to cached content on a Content Delivery Network (CDN).
Description description
Environment
Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) (all versions)
Symptoms
After updating content in AEM and publishing it, the changes don’t appear on your public-facing site. This issue typically occurs when your site is served through a CDN, which continue to deliver cached versions of your pages even after updates are published. No error messages are shown in AEM, but the live site displays outdated content.
Resolution resolution
Follow the steps below to resolve the issue:
- Identify the CDN endpoint where the updated content isn’t appearing.
- Initiate a cache purge for the affected CDN endpoint. The exact steps to purge the cache depend on your CDN provider. This may require logging into your CDN management console or contacting your managed services team.
- After the cache purge is complete, refresh the live site to verify that the updated content is now visible.
- If the updated content still doesn’t appear, check for additional caching layers such as browser cache or intermediary proxies, and clear them as needed.
