AEM: SSL certificate expiration date discrepancy between Chrome and Edge
This article explains why Microsoft Edge may display an outdated SSL certificate expiration date after a certificate renewal, even though Chrome shows the updated information, and provides steps to resolve the issue.

Adobe Experience Manager (all versions)
Issue/Symptoms
After updating the SSL certificate for a domain:
- Chrome displays the correct, updated certificate expiration date.
- Microsoft Edge displays an outdated expiration date that does not reflect the recent certificate update.
- This discrepancy occurs even when accessing the same domain on the same machine.
Cause
Microsoft Edge was displaying cached SSL certificate information. Clearing the browser cache or using an InPrivate session forces Edge to retrieve the updated certificate from the server.
Resolution resolution
Follow the steps below to resolve the issue:
- Open Microsoft Edge and navigate to
Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Clear browsing data. - Select
Cached images and filesand clear the data. - Alternatively, test the site using an InPrivate browsing session in Edge to bypass cached certificate data.
- Confirm that Edge displays the updated certificate expiration date.
