This article describes how to resolve an issue in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) as a Cloud Service where uploaded assets remain stuck in the processing state and don’t appear in the content finder.

Description description

Environment

  • Adobe Experience Manager as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS)

Symptoms

  • Uploaded assets remain in the Processing state.
  • Assets don’t appear in the content finder and can’t be used in page editing.
  • Log messages indicate asset processing services failing to start or operate correctly.

Cause

This issue occurs in certain recent releases of AEM as a Cloud Service and has been addressed in subsequent maintenance updates.

Resolution resolution

Follow the steps below to resolve the issue:

  1. Ensure your AEM as a Cloud Service environment is running the latest available maintenance release.

  2. If assets are stuck in the Processing state:

  3. Restart the AEM Author service from the Cloud Manager console or your environment management interface.

  4. After the restart, reprocess the affected assets:

    • Navigate to the Assets console.
    • Locate the assets stuck in the Processing state.
    • Select the affected assets, then choose Reprocess Asset from the available actions (this may appear as Reprocess or Reprocess Asset depending on your UI version).
  5. Monitor the asset processing workflow:

    • Check the status of the reprocessed assets in the Assets console to confirm they move from Processing to Processed.

    • Verify that the assets now appear in the content finder and are available for use in page editing.

  6. If the issue persists after following these steps, contact Adobe Support for further assistance.
