AEM Forms: Export translations does not trigger any action

This article describes how to address the issue in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Forms where exporting translations doesn’t result in any action, output, or error message.

Description description

Environment

Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Forms

Symptoms

When using AEM Forms, initiating the export translations function for Adaptive Forms doesn’t trigger any visible action. No file is downloaded, and no error message is displayed. This issue is often related to how the translation project was created in AEM Forms.

Resolution resolution

Follow the steps below to resolve the issue:

  1. Review the translation project setup:

    • Ensure that the translation project for your Adaptive Form was created using the recommended AEM Forms translation workflow.

    • If you’re unsure, recreate the translation project by following the standard steps for Adaptive Forms translation projects.

  2. Add the correct assets to the translation project:

    • When adding forms or assets to the translation project, verify that you’re selecting the appropriate asset type (such as Adaptive Forms) for export.
  3. Initiate the export translations operation:

    • Use the AEM Forms interface to start the export process for the selected assets.
  4. Verify the export:

    • Check if the export operation now triggers the expected action, such as downloading a translation file or providing feedback in the UI.
  5. If the issue persists:

    • Review your translation automation configuration if applicable, ensuring it’s enabled and correctly set up.

    • If you’re using custom translation tools, verify their integration with AEM Forms.

  6. If none of the above steps resolve the issue, consider recreating the translation project from scratch and repeating the export process.
