Manual re-indexing after Content Transfer Tool migration
After migrating content using the Content Transfer Tool in Adobe Experience Manager as a Cloud Service, manual re-indexing may be required to ensure all content types are searchable and accessible. This article outlines when and how to perform manual re-indexing across your AEM environments.
Description description
Manual re-indexing is sometimes necessary after completing a Content Transfer Tool migration in Adobe Experience Manager as a Cloud Service. Without re-indexing, newly migrated content such as pages, assets, content fragments, experience fragments, and tags may not appear in search results or be accessible as expected. This process applies to both Author and Publish instances in all relevant regions of your AEM as a Cloud Service deployment.
Resolution resolution
Follow the steps below to resolve the issue.
-
Confirm that the Content Transfer Tool migration has fully completed and all content is available in your target AEM as a Cloud Service environments.

Assets
-
Content Fragments
-
Experience Fragments

-
If you do not have the necessary permissions to perform manual re-indexing, contact your system administrator or the appropriate support channel within your organization to request re-indexing.
-
After re-indexing is complete, validate the process by searching for recently migrated content in each instance and region to ensure search and retrieval are functioning as expected.
