Issue/Symptoms
- A user can’t access non-production author environments such as QA or Stage.
- The correct permissions and product profiles are assigned in Adobe Admin Console.
- Other users with similar permissions don’t experience the issue.
- The affected user receives an access denied message, can’t load the author URL, or sees a blank page.
- The issue affects only one user and isn’t related to recent permission changes.
Cause
The problem synchronization delay or an issue between the Adobe Admin Console and the Identity Management System (IMS), resulting in incomplete or outdated user mappings for specific environments.
Resolution resolution
Follow the steps below to resolve the issue.
- In the Adobe Admin Console, remove the affected user from all product profiles associated with the non-production author environments where access is failing.
- In AEM, navigate to``Tools
>Security>Users in all relevant environments and remove the affected user if present. - Wait 30–40 minutes to allow changes to synchronize across systems.
- Re-add the user to the required product profiles for the non-production environments in the Adobe Admin Console.
- Allow up to 8 hours for synchronization to complete.
- Ask the user to log in and access the non-production author URLs again to verify if access is restored.
- If the issue persists, try accessing the environments from a different network or VPN gateway, as network routing may sometimes affect access.
- If access is still not restored, contact your IT support team or Adobe Support for further assistance.
