Troubleshooting delayed deployment pipeline cancellation in Adobe Experience Manager Managed Services
This article provides guidance on troubleshooting and collecting necessary information when a deployment pipeline cancellation in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Managed Services is delayed due to a long-running cleanup process.
Description description
Environment
Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Managed Services deployments
Symptoms
When cancelling a deployment pipeline in AEM Managed Services, the cancellation process remains in progress for an extended period (such as more than 3 hours). This blocks subsequent deployments and impact scheduled activities. The Cloud Manager UI displays the pipeline execution stuck in a canceling or cleaning up state, without showing an explicit error message.
Cause
This issue is typically caused by a long-running or stalled cleanup process that prevents the pipeline from completing.
Resolution resolution
Follow the steps below to resolve the issue:
-
Log in to Cloud Manager and navigate to the affected pipeline execution.
-
Check the pipeline status. If the pipeline remains in a canceling or cleaning up state for more than 3 hours, note the current status and any recent activity.
-
Review the pipeline execution details for any failed steps or warnings that may indicate where the process is stalled.
-
Attempt to refresh the Cloud Manager UI, or log out and log back in to confirm the status is up to date.
-
Collect the following information to provide to Adobe Support:
-
The affected pipeline execution URL
-
The approximate time the cancellation was initiated
-
Any observed symptoms or error messages
-
Screenshots of the pipeline status and any relevant logs or messages
-
-
If the issue persists and the pipeline doesn’t complete cancellation, contact Adobe Support and provide the collected information for further assistance.
-
After Adobe Support confirms the cleanup is complete, verify that the environment is ready by starting a new deployment pipeline and monitoring its progress through the validation and cleanup phases.
