CRXDE Lite not accessible on development author environments

Issue/Symptoms

When attempting to access the CRXDE Lite interface on a development author environment, the following error is displayed:

Resource at '/crx/de' not found: No resource found
Cannot serve request to /crx/de on this server.
  • CRXDE Lite is not available on newly provisioned AEMaaCS environments.
  • This issue blocks repository-level development and validation tasks that previously relied on CRXDE Lite.

Cause

CRXDE Lite was removed from AEMaaCS cloud environments as part of a platform-level change. Repository access in cloud environments is now limited to supported tools such as the local AEM SDK and the Developer Console Repository Browser.

Resolution resolution

To fix the CRXDE Lite access issue, follow these steps:

  1. Use the local AEM SDK, which includes CRXDE Lite, for repository-level development and configuration.
  2. For read-only inspection of the repository in cloud environments, use the Repository Browser available in the Developer Console.
  3. Refer to official documentation for guidance on using AEM as a Cloud Service developer tools and the AEM SDK for local development.

Verify that you can perform development and inspection tasks using the recommended tools.
