Baseline label search does not filter pasted input in Adobe Experience Manager Guides
This article addresses an issue in Adobe Experience Manager Guides where pasting a label name into the baseline label search field does not trigger filtering of available labels. As a result, the list does not refresh until you enter a manual keystroke. To fix this, use a manual keyboard input after pasting the label name and monitor product updates for a permanent fix.
Description description
Environment
- Adobe Experience Manager 2026.5
- AEM Guides 2026.5.0.367
Issue/Symptoms
When you create or edit a baseline in AEM Guides, the Label option under Set version based on requires you to select a label from a dropdown list. If you copy and paste a label name into the label search input field by using keyboard shortcuts or the context menu, the dropdown list of available labels does not automatically filter or update to match the pasted value. The input field does not register the paste event as a trigger for filtering. Manual keyboard input, such as pressing Backspace and retyping a character, is required to refresh the list and display the intended label.
-
The issue is reproducible when:
- you open a DITA map and navigate to the Baseline tab
- you click Create to open the New baseline dialog
- you select the Label radio button
- you paste a valid label name into the label input field
- you observe that the dropdown does not update until you enter a manual keystroke
There are no error messages or stack traces associated with this issue.
Cause
The label search input field does not trigger the filtering logic on paste events, so you must enter a manual keystroke to refresh the dropdown list. This is a UI event-handling limitation under investigation.
