AEM: Translation project status doesn’t auto-update from Draft to Committed

This article explains why translation project status in Adobe Experience Manager doesn’t automatically update from Draft to Committed For Translation, and how to view the latest status.

Description description

Environment

Adobe Experience Manager (all versions)

Issue/Symptoms

When a user creates a new translation project and starts the translation process, the status of the translation project remains as Draft instead of automatically updating to Committed For Translation. The status only updates after the user manually refreshes the project page. This can cause confusion about the current state of translation jobs.

  • The translation job tiles don’t reflect the latest status until a manual page refresh is performed.
  • No error messages are displayed.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a new translation project in AEM.
  2. Start the translation process.
  3. Observe that the project status remains as Draft until the page is manually refreshed.

Resolution resolution

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

  1. After starting a translation project, manually refresh the project page in the browser to update the status of the translation job tiles.
  2. There is currently no out-of-the-box (OOTB) feature in Adobe Experience Manager to automatically refresh or update the status of translation project tiles without a manual page refresh.
  3. If automatic status updates are required, consider submitting a feature request or exploring custom development options to implement auto-refresh functionality.

Cause

This is expected OOTB behavior in Adobe Experience Manager. The translation project status tiles don’t auto-refresh and require a manual page reload to display the latest status.
