AEM Cloud Manager: Unable to Enable Edge Delivery Services in Existing Program Due to Pending Program Deletion

Edge Delivery Services (EDS) cannot be enabled in an existing Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Cloud Manager program because the EDS entitlement remains associated with another program that is pending deletion.  To resolve the issue, complete deletion or request entitlement reassignment.

Description description

Environment

Adobe Experience Manager as a Cloud Service -  (AEMaaCS)

Issue/Symptoms

  • Edge Delivery Services (EDS) cannot be enabled in an existing Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Cloud Manager program that already includes solutions such as AEM Sites, Assets, and Dynamic Media.
  • EDS was previously configured in a different Cloud Manager program that has since been deleted.
  • Although the deletion process has been initiated, Cloud Manager indicates that the program will not be fully deleted until July 15, 2025.
  • The EDS entitlement remains associated with the deleted program until the deletion process is complete.
  • As a result, you cannot enable EDS in the target Cloud Manager program until the deletion is finalized, causing delays in project implementation timelines.
  • No specific error codes are displayed in the Cloud Manager interface, but the EDS entitlement remains unavailable for the target program until the deletion process is completed.

Root cause

The Edge Delivery Services (EDS) entitlement remains associated with a Cloud Manager program until the program deletion process is fully completed. During this period, the entitlement is unavailable for reassignment to another program, preventing EDS from being enabled in the target program. In time-sensitive scenarios, Adobe Support may assist with expediting the entitlement transfer process.

Resolution resolution

  1. Verify the program deletion status

    • Sign in to Cloud Manager and confirm that the program previously associated with the Edge Delivery Services (EDS) entitlement is in the process of being deleted.
    • Note the expected completion date displayed in the Cloud Manager interface for the deletion process.
  2. Contact Adobe Support or Customer Success

    • If EDS must be enabled before the deletion process is completed, contact Adobe Support or your assigned Technical Account Manager (TAM).
    • Provide details about the affected program and explain the business impact of the delay.
  3. Request entitlement reassignment

    • Request assistance with reassigning the EDS entitlement to the target Cloud Manager program before the deletion process is finalized, if applicable.
    • Monitor communication channels, such as the Adobe Support portal, Slack, or email, for updates regarding the entitlement status and reassignment request.
  4. Enable EDS in the target program

    • After the EDS entitlement becomes available, enable Edge Delivery Services in the target Cloud Manager program using the standard Cloud Manager configuration workflow.
