Troubleshoot environment creation failures in Cloud Manager

Environment creation fails during provisioning or environments transition into a Failed state after creation. The issue occurs due to corrupted program objects, provisioning system issues, missing service profiles, or capacity constraints. In some cases, failed environments cannot be deleted, which blocks further creation. Resolution involves validating program status, recreating affected entities, verifying required profiles, and retrying provisioning. Review program status, environment state, and required configurations to restore environment creation.

Description description

Environment

  • Cloud-based environment provisioning system
  • Environment management console
  • Forms service profiles (if applicable)

Issue/Symptoms

  • Environment creation fails with errors indicating creation cannot complete.
  • Provisioning runs for an extended time and ends in Failed state.
  • New environments shift to Failed state after initial creation.
  • All environments across programs fail provisioning simultaneously.
  • Program appears in Failed state and blocks new environment creation.
  • Some environments cannot be deleted after failure.
  • Forms-related environments fail due to missing profiles.

Cause

Failures occur due to corrupted program objects, provisioning system defects, temporary infrastructure capacity issues, incomplete initialization, or missing required service profiles. Some environments cannot be deleted when failed, which blocks recreation.

How to confirm

  1. Check program status and confirm whether it shows Ready or Failed.
  2. Verify if the failed environment is newly created and contains no pipelines or configurations.
  3. Confirm whether deletion is available for the failed environment.
  4. Review service profiles in the management console for completeness where applicable.
  5. Check if failures occur across multiple programs at the same time.

Resolution resolution

Follow these steps to resolve the issue

  1. Verify the program status and ensure it is not in a Failed state.
  2. Recreate the program if the existing program remains in Failed state.
  3. Delete and recreate failed development environments that contain no configurations.
  4. Request removal of failed staging or production environments when deletion is unavailable.
  5. Verify required service profiles exist for forms-related environments and create missing profiles.
  6. Identify system-wide provisioning issues by attempting creation across multiple programs.
  7. Retry environment creation after provisioning issues or capacity constraints are resolved.
