Done button disabled in Assets Admin Search Rail due to invalid tags predicate
The Assets Admin Search Rail search form does not allow saving changes because the Done button remains disabled due to an invalid tags predicate configuration. The form enters a validation state that blocks submission until all required predicate fields are properly defined. To resolve the issue, fix or recreate the incomplete tags predicate fields configuration.
Description description
Environment
Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
Issue/Symptoms
- When attempting to edit the Assets Admin Search Rail search form via Tools
>General>Search Forms, the Done button remains disabled and cannot be used to save changes. - The Done button briefly flashes blue before turning gray.
- The issue occurs even when no changes are made to the form.
- The Settings icon in the upper right appears red, indicating a validation problem.
- No specific error message appears in the UI.
- The form does not allow saving and remains in a blocked state.
Root cause
The issue occurs because a custom tags predicate in the search form configuration contains missing required fields. This incomplete configuration causes the form to enter an invalid validation state, which disables the Done button and prevents saving changes.
Resolution resolution
To resolve the issue, follow the steps below:
- Navigate to Tools
>General>Search Forms and open the Search Forms editor in AEM. - Select the Assets Admin Search Rail form and click Edit to access the configuration.
- Review the form configuration and identify all configured tag predicates.
- Open each tags predicate and ensure all required fields are properly filled with valid values.
- Save the changes and verify that the settings validation clears and the Done button becomes enabled.
- If the issue persists, remove the affected tags predicate, add it again, populate all required fields correctly, and validate the form before saving.
