AEM as a Cloud Service Environment Creation Failure Due to Configuration, Permissions, or Concurrent Creation Conflict

Environment creation in AEM as a Cloud Service fails in Cloud Manager before Author, Publish, or Dispatcher nodes are created.

To resolve the issue, validate access, review provisioning activity, and retry environment creation.

Issue/Symptoms

  • Environment creation runs for several minutes and then fails
  • Cloud Manager shows failed provisioning status
  • Author, Publish, or Dispatcher nodes do not appear
  • Provisioning stops without a clear error message

Resolution resolution

Follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve AEM as Cloud Service environment creation failures:

  1. Confirm Deployment Manager, Program Manager, or System Administrator roles are assigned and verify access to the Environments section.
  2. Open Cloud Manager > Environments > Activity and confirm no other provisioning job is currently running. Wait for any active job to complete before retrying environment creation.
  3. If the environment includes AEM Forms, open Admin Console > Products > Automated Forms Conversion Service > Profiles and confirm at least one Forms profile exists. Create a profile if none appears, then retry environment creation.
  4. Open the failed provisioning activity and review logs for visible provisioning errors.
  5. Retry environment creation in Cloud Manager and monitor the provisioning progress until completion.

Validation

  • Environment status shows Ready in Cloud Manager
  • Author and Publish endpoints open successfully
  • Provisioning completes without errors

When to Escalate

  • Customers: Contact Adobe Support if provisioning continues to fail after validating permissions, provisioning activity, profiles, and retry attempts. Include the Cloud Manager program ID, environment creation job ID, screenshots, and provisioning logs.
