Adobe Campaign v8 version 8.7.3.

Issue/Symptoms

  • Non‑admin users with appropriate folder permissions cannot send or confirm deliveries within campaigns.
  • Error messages appear stating You are not authorized to perform this operation or Error while confirming message.
  • "POST /nl/jsp/soaprouter.jsp?soapAction=nms%3Aoperation%23StartDelivery HTTP/1.1" 200 5242 ... "nms:operation#StartDelivery"...
  • 2026-01-21 13:19:07.220-05 error log You are not authorized to perform this operation.
  • The issue does not occur for admin users.
  • Deliveries created and sent outside of a campaign context work as expected.
  • Assigning admin rights temporarily resolves the problem, but removing them causes the issue to return.
  • The problem is reproducible across multiple environments, including Stage and Production.
  • Assigning a general group as the campaign owner allows all members of that group to confirm deliveries.

Follow these steps to resolve this issue:

  1. Open Adobe Campaign using the client console instead of the Web UI.
  2. Locate the affected campaign and edit the campaign properties from the client console.
  3. In the ownership section, assign a general user group, such as Standard User or another relevant operational group, as the owner of the campaign instead of an individual user.
  4. Save the changes to update ownership information.
  5. Confirm that all intended users in that group can now send or confirm deliveries associated with the campaign.
  6. Verify the fix by having a non-admin member of the assigned group attempt to send or confirm a delivery within the campaign.
