Dynamic Media Scene7 render condition errors in AEM
In Adobe Experience Manager, Dynamic Media Scene7 template render condition errors can appear in the error logs even when Dynamic Media is not configured. To fix this issue, confirm the configuration state and verify normal DAM behavior.
Description description
Environment
Adobe Experience Manager as a Cloud Service – Sites with Dynamic Media (Scene7) not configured.
Issue/Symptoms
The following error appears in the AEM error logs:
- An error from
libs.dam.gui.components.s7dam.template.rendercondition.createJSP, such as a NullPointerException. - The error occurs during checks to determine whether to display the Create Dynamic Media template action in DAM or S7-related screens.
- The UI continues to function normally, assets load correctly, and HTTP 200 responses are returned.
Resolution resolution
To fix this issue, follow these steps:
- Confirm that Dynamic Media (Scene7) isn’t configured for the AEM environment.
- Review the log entry and verify that it originates from
libs.dam.gui.components.s7dam.template.rendercondition.create. - Check that asset browsing and uploads work as expected and that the DAM UI shows no visible issues.
- If all functionality works normally and Dynamic Media isn’t in use, safely ignore these errors.
- Verify that no other functional issues exist in asset workflows.
Note: This behavior is known and non-impactful when Dynamic Media is not configured. In newer releases, similar log messages are downgraded from ERROR to WARN to reflect their lack of impact on system operation.
