Delay in SSO login due to IMS login page and chat widget initialization on AEM as a Cloud Service
When accessing AEM as a Cloud Service or the Developer Console, you can briefly see an Adobe IMS login screen even with SSO enabled. This delay occurs while the IMS login page and chat widget initialize. SSO completes automatically after a short wait, and you don’t need to re‑enter your credentials.

Issue/Symptoms
You might notice a generic Adobe login screen with a chat assistant appearing for several seconds before redirecting to the target environment. During this time, it can seem that manual credential entry is required, but SSO completes automatically after the delay.
Resolution resolution
Follow these steps to address the issue:
- When the Adobe IMS login screen with the chat assistant appears, wait for several seconds.
- Do not enter credentials on this screen if SSO is already configured.
- Allow time for the existing SSO session to be validated in the background.
- After validation, you are redirected automatically into AEM or the Developer Console without needing to re-enter your credentials.
- Verify that access is granted without manual credential entry.

The login screen in between is part of the standard Adobe Identity Management (IMS) login flow and is expected when accessing AEM or the Developer Console. Users do not need to type credentials again on that screen; if they wait a moment, SSO will complete automatically and they will be taken to the target environment.
Cause
The two to three second delay corresponds to the IMS login page and chat widget loading and initializing. During that time, the login form is visible but acts only as a bridge while your existing SSO session validates. There are no errors or misconfigurations on the AEM or Developer Console side; SSO completes successfully.
